Film tip 'Scarred Lands and Wounded Lives: The Environmental Footprint of War'

This is an interesting documentary about a subject which is rarely reported on: The environmental impact of warfare.

Obviously every war has its toll on human lives and its victims are often honoured and remembered. But war is also hugely damaging wildlife and the environment, which is often underestimated.

From the production of weapons to combat and restoration, war actions are causing pollution, destroy biodiversity and drain natural resources.

This film travels through the history of several wars looking at it from an unusual angle.
